Import to TM not working
« on: July 17, 2010, 07:36:04 pm »
I've updated to iOS 4.0.1.
I've read the documentation. In it you state "you can now email yourself a Tab delimited CSV file for import". But are they CSV files or Tab Delimited files? Those are not the same. I've exported my client list and saved it as a tab delim file. I've copied my information into your template and emailed it to myself. The phone asked what i want to open it in and I chose TM. But there are no entries in TimeMaster.

I've done the same thing with my lists (Tasks) but nothing shows up for those either. I'm stumped. I've purchased all the products in good faith that this was going to work but I'm not getting that warm and fuzzy feeling yet.

As an aside, you have a field called expenditures. What would that list relate to in QB 2010 for Mac (where there is no expenditure list)?

Thanks.

Please make sure that you are running Time Master v3.1.  You can check by tapping on the "Setup" tab and look at the version number on the bottom of the screen.

When Apple introduced iOS 4 with "Multitasking", if Time Master was already *running* it would not know to import the data and you would have to "quit" the app before trying to import.  It sounds like you have a multitasking device (iPhone 3GS or 4 or newer iPod) and still running TM v3.0.  We have fixed this issue in v3.1.  Please download the free update to 3.1 and let us know if you have any problems!?

Updating to 3.1 did the trick.

Now, what list does one export for expenditures in QB 2010 that would that would match to Expenses in TM?

We don't do any exporting for expenses yet (and thus importing either).  The expenses are not as straight forward as Time Entries, and it's going to be a big convoluted to try and explain how to do it when we get to trying to implement it.
