Either one of two things. Your email address (To) is incorrect (e.g. typo) or you didn't setup any email accounts for the built-in "Mail" app. Make sure that you can send an email from the Mail App first. If that works, then double check that you didn't have a bad character in your email address (e.g. comma instead of period).
