Textexpander in invoice email
« on: September 18, 2012, 03:55:26 am »
Hi
This continues to be a great app.
Thanks
I use Textexpander to speed up entries in all sections such as time entries, expense entires, notes in Invoices etc.

However, I'm having a problem when I send a draft of an invoice to my accounts department.
I go to "export invoice", choose an invoice and then "email to me".
I then see the default email, as already set up by me, sending the invoice to the client.
I don't want to change the default as I also want to continue sending emails direct to clients on occasions.

If I try to use Textexpander to replace the default email with a "snippet" from Textexpander, then it doesn't work.
I know that I can send myself a default email with a statement but that won't give me a copy of the draft invoice.

Am I doing something wrong?
If not, will you be developing your app to allow me to have a choice of precedent emails?
Thanks again.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do for that.  When you are presented with the Email screen, you are actually in Apple's Email program, not Time Master.  The only way that would work there is if Apple added TextExpander support to all their apps.

Hi Adam
Thanks for your reply.
I've found a suitable work around as follows:-

Prior to me emailing my accounts department the draft invoice, I open the "Time Entries" tab on your app.
I press "+" to add an entry.
In the "Reference" section I use my Textexpander code to call up my chosen email.
I then "Select All", then "Cut" and then press "Done"
I then open the the "Modules" tab of your app and go to "Export Invoice".
Having chosen the invoice, I select "Email to Me".
I can delete the draft email (apart from the attached invoice),
and "paste" the chosen email into the space.

This will work ok until Apple play ball or you allow a choice of precedent emails.
Thanks again for your support and the great app.
