Fixed budget projects, does Timemaster support it?
« on: March 23, 2012, 07:12:09 pm »
Does Timemaster give the tools needed to support fixed project budgets?

Or is there a workaround to simulate a fixed project budget?

We do have Fixed Amount Projects.  When you initially create a Project you can set the "Kind" to "Fixed Amount".  There are two types and they are explained in the Manual, but one is a "reusable" one which can be used daily or a long term type, which needs to be "Completed" when you are ready to bill.

For both, you still track time against it so you can tell if your guesstimates were good or not.

Thanks Adam.

What about invoicing with fixed fee? How does that work?

Does it just use the fixed fee? Or do I have to make a "fake" time entry or something?

Depends on what you are doing.  Use a Fixed Amount Project if you want to track time against that fixed amount.  If you don't care to track time, then use Expenses.
